folioaide is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the folioaide mobile application.

Information you provide directly:
- Phone number — used for authentication and account creation
- Portfolio data — stock symbols, quantities, purchase prices, and dates you manually enter
- Watchlist data — stocks you choose to monitor
- Price alerts — alert preferences you set for stock price notifications
- App settings — your preferences such as hidden values toggle
Information collected automatically:
- Device information — device type, OS version, unique device identifiers
- Usage data — features used, screens viewed, time spent in the app
- Analytics data — app performance, crashes, and errors via Firebase Analytics
- IP address — collected automatically by our service providers
Information from third parties:
- Market data — real-time and historical stock prices from financial data providers
- News data — company and market news from news aggregators
- Authentication — verification status from Firebase Authentication
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to: provide portfolio tracking, stock monitoring, and gain/loss calculations; verify your identity and secure your account; synchronize your portfolio data across devices; send price alerts and important updates; understand how users interact with the App to improve functionality; respond to support inquiries; detect and prevent fraud and security incidents; and comply with legal obligations.
3. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored using Google Firebase infrastructure:
- Firebase Firestore — stores your portfolio data, watchlists, and app settings
- Firebase Authentication — manages your account authentication
- Encryption — sensitive portfolio data is encrypted at rest and in transit using AES-256
We implement end-to-end encryption for sensitive financial data, secure phone verification, regular security audits, access controls, and HTTPS for all data transmission.
4. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers who perform services on our behalf: Firebase (Google) for cloud storage and authentication; financial data providers for real-time stock prices; and news providers for market news feeds. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of folioaide or its users.
5. Your Privacy Rights
You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you; correct inaccurate information; request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal obligations); request a copy of your data in a portable format; and opt out of certain data collection and processing activities. 6. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. When your account is deleted, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.
8. Third-Party Links and Services
The App may contain links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
9. California Privacy Rights
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
